Event details

The GSA is delighted to announce the second event in its new #SourcingTech Series: Demystifying the Cloud.

The event has the key objective to address the main challenges customers are facing when procuring cloud services and deploying cloud applications whilst highlighting the opportunities.

We have lined up an expert programme of speakers to help you break through the haze, in a friendly and informal networking setting, followed by open floor discussion over drinks.

The session will cover:

o  A jargon-free overview of the latest themes and trends across strategic Cloud procurements: ranging from contracting through security and uptime to availability of talent

o  As purchasing power moves from the IT department, how sourcing professionals can better support the business with Cloud transformation programmes

o  The new mind-set required from traditional "on-premise" sourcing models

o  Future opportunities of Cloud technology

About #SourcingTech Series

#SourcingTech: As the title suggests, this series of events is focused on the new and emerging technologies that the sourcing profession needs to be aware of, but equally will provide guidelines to the GSA membership on how best to source these new technologies into their organisations.

The subjects of the next events in the Series are as follows:

·    20th June - 5G and new wireless technologies transforming connectivity

·    18th July - Data Analytics and Infonomics

·    26th Sept - IoT and the revolution of sensor technology

·    21st Nov – Security

The GSA’s 2018 Sourcing Satisfaction Barometer survey revealed that many of our members highlighted a strong degree of confusion around how to adopt – or even if they should adopt – emerging technologies. It also exposed a disconnect between the IT, procurement and operational departments. This series of events and accompanying papers set out to help realign these areas to collectively deliver optimal value to their businesses.

Each briefing will follow the format of a 4pm start time and involve three dynamic and quick-fire presentations on the technology in question, all coming from a different perspective. We will then move to the floor for open Q&A and discussion and conclude with networking drinks. The objective is to demystify these techs to help our members better understand if and how these techs can be beneficial to their business.
