The global sourcing standard
The Model of Successful Outsourcing
A contract isn’t just for the inking; it’s for the lifecycle.
Up to 70% of outsourcing deals could deliver much greater results with just a few simple tweaks to the way the deal is conceived, contracted, managed and governed. Value leakage is one of the most serious issues in outsourcing today. Often this is due to poor handling of change. Yet change is inevitable – contracts are played out over years – change is the one thing that’s guaranteed.
The Global Sourcing Standard is a non-prescriptive model designed for sourcing practitioners to validate or to develop their own approaches to sourcing strategy. The Standard also provides those who are impacted by sourcing with an appreciation of what it is and how it works.
“THE STANDARD PROVIDES A STABLE AND STEADY STATE PLATFORM FROM WHICH YOU CAN THEN EXPLORE DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES, PARTICULARLY IN AREAS OF TRANSFORMATION. IT ALSO ENABLES YOU TO TAKE MORE RISK BECAUSE YOU CAN COMPETENTLY ASSESS OPPORTUNITIES LIKE THE IMPACT OF NEW AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES.”
The Global Sourcing Standard is a unified view of global industry best practice that organisations on both the buy side and provider side can be accredited to.
Nearly nine years in the making, the Standard has been a significant development towards the GSA’s vision of a unified sourcing industry operating to a single global standard of practice. It started off as a Life Cycle model, evolving into a Corporate Accreditation programme for buy-side companies, and now today is a totally unique global standard that has been critiqued by well over 200 organisations, to which both buyers and providers can be accredited to.
The Standard provides you with a comprehensive end-to-end strategic sourcing knowledge base, but is also underpinned by a full Competencies and Capabilities framework, Social Inclusion Charter, Transparency Principles and an Industry Code of Conduct.
The Standard has not only been proven to save organisation’s £millions annually, it has also been recognised globally as a means of providing exemplar Quality Assurance for clients, customers and other stakeholders including regulatory bodies.
The Standard has been adopted by international outsourcing associations throughout the world, from Russia to China, Poland to India, Latin America to South Africa and everywhere in between. It is governed by a global Standard Advisory Group, which is responsible for providing market intelligence, quality oversight and the ongoing development of the Standard.
