The positions available are:

 

Sourcing Strategist.

This role will be responsible for reviewing how the strategic sourcing function within an organisation is evolving and how the role of the strategic sourcing professional now transcends the business, finance, operations, technology and procureent to deliver value add through sourcing to the business.       

                                                               

Attracting and Upskilling Talent Ambassador.

This role looks at the competences and capabilities of the strategic sourcing professional – mapped on both the buy and delivery sides – and also looks at how we can attract more people to start careers in strategic sourcing. This role also governs the Emergent Talent Forum.         

           

Future of Work Evangelist.

The workplace is changing. Jobs are changing. Certain roles are being displaced by techs. This role looks at how these changes are impacting our industry and what we need to do to ensure ethical behaviours, strong responsibility and delivering working environments fit for the future. Think Wellness. Think gig economy, among others.      

       

Global Standard Guru.

The GSA is the Home of the Global Sourcing Standard – the only Standard that covers the end to end lifecycle of strategic sourcing that both buyers and providers can be accredited to. We are the bastion of best practice and this role ensures focus on the ongoing development of best practice and dissemination thereof to ensure the positive reputation of sourcing and therefore ongoing growth of the industry.                                                            

 

Customer-centricity Champion.

Business is all about CX and UX. This role will cover off the importance of customer-centricity across the sourcing landscape, but will also look at GSA’s own customer journey.            

                                                         

Digital Envoy.

Digital transformation is an over-played term. One person’s digital transformation is another person’s continuous improvement. This role is to look at all things digital – for both the GSA itself, as well as the membership community.     

                                 

New Technologies Champion.

Business services are enabled by new technologies and impacted by emerging techs all the time. This role looks at the emerging techs that a sourcing professional needs to be aware of and guides them as to how to bring these techs into a sourcing arrangement at any time of its lifespan. This covers automation, AI, IoT, cloud, blockchain, etc.    

                                   

Women in Sourcing Lead.

Gender equality is everyone’s issue. This role looks at championing the role and importance of women in sourcing, ensuring equality in conditions and pay and sharing stories to empower and inspire women to achieve the next level in their careers.   

                                               

Inclusion and Diversity Champion.

Inclusion and diversity is about much more than gender equality. This role looks at matters ranging from social diversity through LBGT, to promote complete fairness and equality in the global sourcing industry.       

                                             

Legal Ace.

Contracting models are evolving as the industry changes. This role keeps an eye on best practice today as well as the art of the possible for contracting tomorrow. This will oversee GSA Standard terms and subjects ranging from the blockchain contract through relational contracting.

 

Innovation Lead.

Innovation is of paramount importance to strategic sourcing. From the way it is introduced at any point of a client’s programme to the way we as an industry innovate overall. But what is innovation? This role will look at the art of the possible in terms of innovations and promote stories and examples of innovative practice.    

                                                                    

Sustainability Representative.

Sustainability is essential in sourcing, be that the sustainability of goods and services in the supply chain, our impact on the environment or the treatment and wellbeing of employees at any point within the supply chain. This role will look at matters of ethics, the Modern Slavery Act and champion the positive impact a sustainable approach can have on business.     

                                                   

Start-ups Champion.

Start-ups and SMEs are the lifeblood of UK plc and essential within the sourcing eco-system. We need to bring more start-ups into the GSA-fold and promote best practice in how all members better partner with start-ups by better understanding their needs. This role will be building the community, but also promoting the industry code of conduct for dealing with start-ups.        

                                                                 

Public Affairs Professional.

Outsourcing always gets negative press – and that is too often around failed Government projects. The Public Affairs role will look at all matters related to communicating with Government about the strategic sourcing industry, and promoting programmes of change the industry wants/needs – to ensure the industry is better represented and supported by Government. It will also cover key areas of changing compliance.

 

BFSI Representative.

This role will represent the opportunities and challenges faced by banking, financial services and insurance organisations, vis a vis strategic sourcing - whether that be best practice, new compliance of specific new techs.

 

Retail Representative.

This role will represent the opportunities and challenges faced by retail organisations, vis a vis strategic sourcing - whether that be best practice, new compliance or specific new techs.

 

Utilities Representative (including telcos).

This role will represent the opportunities and challenges faced by retail organisations, vis a vis strategic sourcing - whether that be best practice, new compliance or specific new techs.

 

Public sector Representative. 

This role will represent the opportunities and challenges faced by the public sector (local and central Government), vis a vis strategic sourcing - whether that be best practice, new any aspect of best practice, new regulations or specific new techs.

 

Pharmaceuticals Representative.

This role will represent the opportunities and challenges faced by pharm organisations, vis a vis strategic sourcing - whether that be best practice, new compliance or specific new techs.

The “open manifesto” approach was introduced to ensure the GSA UK is driving initiatives that the membership values. The manifesto should be your proposed pledge of programme to deliver, set out over 400 words under the following headings:

  • Issue/s or challenge/s you are looking to address
  • Objectives
  • Proposed approach to address challenge /suggested activities

Emergent Talent representatives.

We are also calling for nominations for two representatives of the GSA’s Emergent Talent Forum to sit on the GSA-UK Council. The GSA launched the Emergent Talent Forum in 2018 as part of the #ReshapingSourcing initiative. 

The purpose of the Emergent Talent Forum is mani-fold:

  • To develop the skills and further the careers of those entering the sourcing profession
  • To assist in the professional and social development of all graduates, trainees and apprentices in sourcing through a platform of networking, sharing and learning
  • To provide support and encourage knowledge sharing between professionals in similar circumstances whilst promoting a clear understanding of different disciplines and career progression opportunities across sourcing
  • To enable new industry entrants to meet with experienced professionals for career advice and engage with potential mentors
  • To bring the new talent the industry has together to help steer the future direction of the industry
  • To profile the industry to emergent talent with the objective of encouraging more talent to enter the strategic sourcing profession
