The Association represents the interests of both enterprise buyers and service providers and we are acutely aware that our buy-side members are all grappling with the need to understand the sustainability within their supply chains and all are drafting and issuing questionnaires to their partners. Simultaneously all our service provider members are being hit with a deluge of questionnaires from their clients, but all questionnaires are different, asking different questions and using different metrics. From the research we have done across our community we believe the industry would be better served with one standard question set (recognising their will be some nuances for regulated industries) that all buyers can use and we may even go as far as holding the results of all service providers – but that’s clearly phase two.
We are currently in the throes of pulling all this content together in preparation for launching the proposed industry standard questionnaire set at the Festival of Sourcing on 5-6 July.
Following our research into questionnaires being sent to service providers, we are holding a roundtable discussion to agree on a questionnaire which is comprehensive for the industry, before presenting it to our service providers for a response.
