What is the definition of supplier diversity?

Is a supply chain 52% comprised by SMEs good or bad?  And is that by spend or by number?

How do you find a trusted ethnic minority owned, female led business?

We don’t blame you for not knowing the answers to these questions. The reality is that in the UK no one does. And that is the reason why we are launching the Council for Supplier Diversity UK.

Currently there is no best practice for how organisations set up and manage diverse supply chains.

There is no benchmark data for what good supplier diversity looks like

The strategic sourcing industry has united to address these clear and essential gaps. Attend the launch and learn more about the work of the Council and how to get involved:

Speakers:

Chair: Kerry Hallard, CEO, Global Sourcing Association

Panellists:

  • Farida Gibbs, CEO, Gibbs Hybrid
  • Sunita Hirani, Senior Contracts Manager, BBC
  • Sara Ahmad, Associate Director and Lead: Strategic Sourcing and Procurement UK&I, Bristol Myers Squibb

We will cover off:

  • The challenges diverse supplier face
  • The benefits of a diverse supply chain
  • The difficulties in building and managing a diverse supply chain
  • Why established US best practice does not work in the UK
